Connie and I had the privilege, this week, of speaking to a group of young-adult Chinese students who are in the States for a period of time. Rev. James and Karen Hosack, our hosts, have been working faithfully for the past few years to help reach out to this special group of Chinese students. As part of their outreach, and in recognition of Chinese New Year, local volunteers and some of the students prepared 1,500 Chinese dumplings for their evening event!
Every week, at least 60 – 100 (and on some occasions as many as 150) students gather together for food, fellowship and special programs that minister love, caring and compassion to them while they are away from their families in China. It is an opportunity to not only share the Gospel but to demonstrate it!
It was a special time for Connie and I. We enjoyed the opportunity to use our Mandarin to speak to several of the students 1:1 and then to share God’s love with the entire group as part of the evening’s events. Wayne was able to travel with us, as well, and helped translate during the presentation.
We greatly appreciate Rev. James & Karen Hosack for inviting us, and for their faithful commitment to reach out to these Chinese students. We’ll be in Texas for another week ministering in different areas and appreciate your prayers as we travel.
