There is much happening in our world today where prayer is the primary way that we as Christians can intervene. Like never before, it is important for us to yield to the promptings God places in our hearts to pray, to act in accordance with how He directs, and to rest in His precious promises.
One area you may not be aware of that has need of our active prayers right now is in the nation of China. The government has recently added new restrictions for churches and online materials. Most churches now meet in tiny groups and use social media platforms to communicate. Beginning March 1st, however, the government of China started cracking down even more on online media communications. We need to offer prayers for the church in China during this time and trust that the Word will continue to go forth unhindered.
But we want to focus on some GOOD NEWS in this regard, too! Early on in March we were grateful to confirm that our FLP Chinese website was still operating. That in itself was a reason to praise the Lord! What we hadn’t anticipated, however, was how the new restrictions would direct hungry hearts toward our site in even greater numbers.
As of March 1st, we’d had a total of 2750 downloads from our FLP Chinese website. As of the time of this e-update, however, that number has jumped to 39,822 downloads! That’s a 1348% increase in just 18 days!
We ask that you continue to join us in prayer for the church in China and for the ongoing protection of our website. Pray, also, for the safety of those working with us to continue translating materials. Our team plans to meet before the end of the month to discuss strategies of how best to continue getting the Word out to Chinese speakers around the world. We appreciate your prayers, as well, as we seek God’s wisdom and direction moving forward.
In the meantime, we are excited that the twenty titles we currently have available are getting into the hands of Christians in China! We appreciate your support in helping us continue to offer these materials free of charge and to make more resources available in the future.
Thank you again for your love and generosity!
