Redeeming the Time

April held more Zoom trainings for church leaders in India and additional ministry opportunities for us in Missouri, Texas and Ontario. We have church speaking commitments coming up soon in Illinois and Colorado as well. We are grateful to represent you and our wonderful Lord Jesus wherever we go.

Today, however, we wanted to send some words of encouragement to you. The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians chapter 5 verses 15 and 16, “Redeeming the time because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Paul is urging the Christians to make the most of every opportunity. He uses the word “Redeem,” which means “to buy or purchase”. In other words, time is like a commodity. It is the most valuable resource we possess. Paul is simply saying we should buy up every opportunity we have. For what purpose? To share the Good News of Jesus with others; to invest our lives in the lives of others; to place ourselves in a position to know and experience God’s will for our lives.
